Cat Palm (Chamaedorea cataractarum)
The cute little Cat Palm is a smaller, more petite palm that closely resembles the familiar Areca palm, growing only 6’ feet tall at maturity. They prefer bright, indirect light and evenly moist soil. Avoid watering with water high in salts and chemicals, and avoid drafty doorways, windows, or heat vent areas as they tend to be sensitive to temperature change and drying out. They also thrive best in higher humidity, so placing near other plants or running a humidifier will have these little cats thanking you.
Pot up in a well-draining soil, so water can move quickly through and not sit for prolonged periods.
