Tephrocactus articulatus papyracanthus
Tephrocactus articulatis papyracanthus, commonly called “Paper Spine Cactus” for their paper-like flattened spine-like growths. They grow in height by producing vertical segmented stems, that look like stacked pine cones, which can easily be knocked off accidentally or for propagation of new plants.
Like most cacti, they are slow growing and prefer bright, direct sunlight (6+ hours daily) and watering only when soil is completely dry. Pot in a well-draining cactus/succulent soil mix.
