Monstera adansonii, commonly called “Swiss Cheese” Plant or vine is known for its bright green leaves with holes (fenestrations). With time and given the proper stake or trellis, this vining plant will make a big statement in any home or office, the leave getting larger and developing more fenestrations.
GENERAL CARE
Monstera prefer bright, indirect light. Pot in a loose, well-draining aroid potting blend and water when the soil feels dry. Provide a pole or support to encourage larger leaves and stronger vine growth.
Monstera are a tropical, vining plant native to tropical forests! They belong in the Araceae (Aroid) family along with Epipremnum, Philodendron, and other aroids. In nature, they are found growing up trees, anchoring in place with aerial roots. As the plant matures and gains more height/stability, their leaves can get much larger and more dynamic in shape, forming fenestrations (holes in their leaves).
