Ludisia are considered “terrestrial” orchids, meaning unlike other orchids, they dwell on the ground rather than in trees. 

Another distinction is their uniqueorange veins set against dark velvety leaves. These plants are collected for their foliage, making them a statement piece all year long. Their blooms are a soft white and form on tall clusters.  

Colors range anywhere from deep, moody maroons, to lively green with neon vein and leaf patterns. 

These can be grown as houseplants, but do best with higher humidity and warm, stable temperatures that can be achieved best in a terrarium environment! 

GENERAL CARE

Grow in dappled, bright indirect sunlight (similar to a forest floor). The brighter the diffused light, the more vibrant the foliage will be. Avoid direct sunlight, this can scorch the leaves.

They require good air flow and a consistently moist soil, with adequate root aeration. Substrates with high moisture retention, combined with good aeration and drainage is key. Consider mixing potting soil with additional orchid bark and perlite.

SHIPPING
  1. We DO NOT ship internationally, Continental United States ONLY
  2. We DO NOT ship plants larger than a 6” pot due to weight and packing logistics.
  3. IF ORDERING A CACTUS OR SUCCULENT: Depending on specimen chosen, for the safety of your plant, we may decide to ship bare-root and will contact you about options prior to shipping. 
  4. We ship plants every TUESDAY (to avoid weekend shipping delays)
  5. We only ship plants when our local temperatures are between 30-85 degrees Fahrenheit. PLEASE CHECK YOUR LOCAL TEMPS BEFORE ORDERING. We will add a $3, 72-hour heat pack for temps below 40 degrees Fahrenheit. If your order is placed when temps are outside of our plant-safe window, we will hold your plant(s) until we can ship safely.
  6. We DO NOT offer refunds or replacements on plants that have been shipped. We are NOT responsible for lost or stolen packages, shipping delays, damages to plants during shipping or as a result of shipping, or complete loss/death of plant due to shipping delays, environmental conditions, or shipping damages to box or packaging. 
  7. If you have paid extra for shipping insurance, please check with the carrier you have selected to ensure that the plants are covered in their policy and are not considered an “excluded commodity”. 
  8. If you live in an apartment building, please be vigilant in tracking your packages and be ready to receive the package; It is prevalent for packages to get taken.
  9. Our plants are pest-free to the best of our knowledge. All plants are treated preventatively with Natural, non-toxic horticultural sprays for spider mites, mealy bug, aphids, and thrips. Please quarantine your new plants as you would any other plant purchase prior to introducing into your collection.

3. The plants available for sale are rooted, pest-free, and healthy to the best of our knowledge and expertise. We do not offer refunds once the plant leaves our care. 

4. Some plants may take time to acclimate after transporting and transitioning to your new environment. We are not responsible for yellowing leaves or plant decline.
