Money Tree (Pachira aquatica)

Considered to bring good luck and fortune, Pachira aquatica is a tropical tree, native to the wetlands in Central and South America. Since they grow in swamps, these trees prefer a well-draining (peat/sand) soil and bright, indirect light. Water when the soil begins to feel dry, allowing a brief “dry period” between watering to allow roots to breathe. They can also tolerate lower light conditions. Avoid drafty windows, heater vents, and hot dry air. They prefer high humidity, so would do wonderfully in a well-lit bathroom, kitchen, or among other plant friends.
