Christmas Cactus (Schlumbergera bridgesii) are tropical jungle cactus with an incredible floral display! These make fantastic holiday and every other occasion gifts as they are super easy to care for. Unlike most cacti and succulents we are familiar with that like direct light and dry dry soil, these cactus actually thrive in lower light and higher humidity! 

We have a variety of colors ranging from pinks, reds, to whites and occasionally oranges and yellows. If seeking a specific color, please contact us for availability. 

GENERAL CARE

Place in a bright, filtered light window (no direct sun), and water when the top few inches of soil begin to feel dry. Pot in a well-draining cactus/succulent mix.

These plants tend to bloom only once a year and have a few requirements to make that happen: 

  • a cool night temperature between 50 to 55 degrees
  • 13 hours of uninterrupted darkness (if the temperature is between 55 and 70 degrees)
  • 15 hours of darkness (if the temperature is above 70 degrees)

If placed in a window or room that stays dark after the sun goes down, this should be a very easy list to complete, especially in Iowa!

SHIPPING
  1. We DO NOT ship internationally, Continental United States ONLY
  2. We DO NOT ship plants larger than a 6” pot due to weight and packing logistics.
  3. IF ORDERING A CACTUS OR SUCCULENT: Depending on specimen chosen, for the safety of your plant, we may decide to ship bare-root and will contact you about options prior to shipping. 
  4. We ship plants every TUESDAY (to avoid weekend shipping delays)
  5. We only ship plants when our local temperatures are between 30-85 degrees Fahrenheit. PLEASE CHECK YOUR LOCAL TEMPS BEFORE ORDERING. We will add a $3, 72-hour heat pack for temps below 40 degrees Fahrenheit. If your order is placed when temps are outside of our plant-safe window, we will hold your plant(s) until we can ship safely.
  6. We DO NOT offer refunds or replacements on plants that have been shipped. We are NOT responsible for lost or stolen packages, shipping delays, damages to plants during shipping or as a result of shipping, or complete loss/death of plant due to shipping delays, environmental conditions, or shipping damages to box or packaging. 
  7. If you have paid extra for shipping insurance, please check with the carrier you have selected to ensure that the plants are covered in their policy and are not considered an “excluded commodity”. 
  8. If you live in an apartment building, please be vigilant in tracking your packages and be ready to receive the package; It is prevalent for packages to get taken.
  9. Our plants are pest-free to the best of our knowledge. All plants are treated preventatively with Natural, non-toxic horticultural sprays for spider mites, mealy bug, aphids, and thrips. Please quarantine your new plants as you would any other plant purchase prior to introducing into your collection.

3. The plants available for sale are rooted, pest-free, and healthy to the best of our knowledge and expertise. We do not offer refunds once the plant leaves our care. 

4. Some plants may take time to acclimate after transporting and transitioning to your new environment. We are not responsible for yellowing leaves or plant decline.
