Choose from a curated selection of plants and pots, get your hands in the dirt, and forget about the outside world for a moment.
Brenda Summers-Kurt—a complex trauma survivor, educator, and curriculum specialist—Will begin our session with an exploration of abbreviated format practical tools, reflective exercises, and guided frameworks that support emotional restoration, self-awareness, and empowered living.
THEN, Laura, owner of Planted. And certified Horticulturist, will guide you through a Plant Parent 101 class where you will learn about lighting, watering, soils, and repotting. Pick out a plant and pot from a curated selection and get a DIY Potting Lesson, so you can take home your own potted plant! Whether you are a trauma survivor or someone simply seeking to reconnect with your inner self and quite the increasingly noisy world around you, this course provides a compassionate, structured path for healing, growth, and living from the inside out.
No previous plant experience required, newbies and seasoned plant peeps welcome!
ABOUT THE INSTRUCTORS
Brenda Summers-Kurt has a Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instructional Leadership and her background in psychology education, she developed a supplemental program Bloom & Grow, designed to empower individuals to achieve greater inner alignment through a holistic, multidimensional approach to personal growth and well-being, fostering personal transformation that elevates collective consciousness.
Laura Klavitter, owner of Planted., has a Horticulture Degree from Iowa State University with over fifteen years of experience growing, teaching, tending, and admiring tropical plants, growing food, and teaching people about plants. AND! She has a real passion for building community around plants.
